Kat Dennings is a Pennsylvanian born in Bryn Mawr on 13 June 1986. The name she was given was Katherine Victoria Litwack. The mother of her child, Ellen, was a poet and speech therapist while her father, Gerald, was a molecular pharmacologist and college professor. Dennings is the youngest out of five children, and grew up in an all-Jewish household. Dennings was educated at home and only once did she attend a traditional school. Since she was acting since the age of nine, she discovered that homeschooling was the best method. In the age of 9, she had started acting in advertisements.
